Gentle routines that help children feel secure and ready to learn

Regular attendance helps children build strong relationships, feel confident in routines and make steady progress in their learning. Young children thrive when their days feel predictable, familiar and connected — and attending nursery regularly supports this beautifully.

We work closely with families to make attendance manageable, flexible and supportive.

Why Attendance Matters

Children benefit from regular attendance because it helps them:

• feel secure in daily routines

• build strong relationships with staff and friends

• develop confidence and independence

• engage fully in learning experiences

• make progress across all areas of development

Even small gaps in attendance can make it harder for children to settle, especially in the early weeks.

If Your Child Is Unwell

If your child is unwell or unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible. You can:

• phone the nursery

• use the nursery app

• email us

• speak to staff at drop‑off or pick‑up

If your child has sickness or diarrhoea, please keep them at home for 48 hours after the last episode.

Medical Appointments

If your child has a medical appointment, please tell us in advance. We understand that some appointments cannot be moved, especially for children with SEND or ongoing health needs.

Support With Attendance

If you are finding attendance difficult — for any reason — please talk to us. We will work with you sensitively and without judgement.

• building confidence over time

Our aim is always to help children feel safe, settled and ready to learn.

Holidays During Term Time

We encourage families to take holidays during school breaks wherever possible. If you plan to take a holiday during term time, please let us know in advance.
